Walter Plantz Square, Philipsburg, Sint Maarten, 2018[open in full screen]

Previous Alameda Vieja, Jerez, Spain, 2017

Philipsburg, with the population of 1,327 is main town and capital of the country of Sint Maarten, in the southern Dutch part of the divided Caribbean island. There are two public spaces that we can call urban squares and this is one of them.

It is connecting pedestrian boardwalk along the see and attractive beach with Front Street, main shopping true-fare. Look in the distance to check if there are any cruse ships on their way to the city or docked in the harbour nearby.   In that case stay away from the area, there are so many other attractive spots on the island. In couple of minutes it will be taken over completely with thousands of tourists. In other times especially after the frequent rains, as in our case, atmosphere here is very pleasant.

Next Kapellplaz, Luzern, Switzerland
