Belgrade Waterfront, and this plato on the promenade, known in Serbian as Belgrade on Water, is a controversial urban renewal development project. Waterfront complex is located on the right bank of river Sava occupying the central city area. Significant number of citizens do not like this initiative.

   Even though the Sava Amphitheater area was relatively unoccupied, significant infrastructural interventions were needed. Some include removing the freight road traffic.

It was necessary to remove a significant number of tracks and the entire Main Railway Station from the current location.

   Being from Toronto we can't notice a similarity with Toronto Waterfront, Parque das Nações in Lisbon, and some others around the world, adding to the negative opinion of many about Globalization and Unification of urban design. Shopping Mall facing this space is of no design value, except two galleries displaying work of local artists. Fourth row of photos bellow.
