Town of Worishofen was first founded in 1067 as Werenshova. In 19th century natural springs were found. Ever since then, the city has depended on its spas and it is renamed to Bad [spa] Worishofen. At 6pm when we arrived at the hotel "La Maison" that we made reservation well in advance, all the streets were completely empty. At hotel we just found our keys outside on the table and not a single soul present to welcome us or anybody else stayed in the whole hotel with approximately 30-40 rooms.

   Few minutes later we went to the city centre to find a place to have some food. This panorama was made in the main pedestrian area, at 7pm and all the stores, cafes and restaurants were closed?

Only one hotel with only one other table occupied was open. From somewhere inside this hotel sound of music was heard and my curiosity was fulfilled once I found out that couple of hundred of seniors are having a blast on the dance podium. This just added more juice to the eerie feeling on the streets.

Tip for visitors: We probably had a best meal on our entire trip in this hotel at this hour.

   It was not surprise when we later found out that famous "Kneipp's Hydrotherapy", excellent treatment for stress situations, particularly for nervous exhaustion, insomnia, restlessness and the burnout syndrome was developed here by Sebastian Kneipp, 19th century catholic priest.

It was also quite natural to find out that Rainer Werner Fassbinder, famous film director, was born here. His provoking and disturbing movies like "Berlin Alexanderplatz" is very understandable now.
