Previous Pompidou Centre, Paris

As you can see on the two maps bellow space in front of the cathedral Notre Dame was built up on both of them. Square was established as a part of first phase of Georges-Eugène Haussmann renovation of Paris around 1860.

Etching from the early 18th century [photo bellow left] is showing somewhat cleared space but still waiting for intervention almost 100 years later.

We visited next door Square R. V. Montebello, with Notre Dame clearly visible but one more interesting fact is making it unique in the world?
