Qmanda Parque Urbano, Quito, Ecuador, 2015[open in full screen]

  Previous

“The park is spectacular, I am pleasingly surprised” expressed the famous mountain climber Iván Vallejo when he visited the Qmandá Urban Park, on 25 of January 2014, during the official opening ceremonies. Strictly speaking this is not a square but it embodies the spirit of revitalization so it more than deserves to be in our collection.

Qmandá Urban Park (or Cumanda, as it is sometimes spelled) is the result of a project to revitalize the old terminal Qmanda that allowed the re-funcionalizacion of the existing construction.

It constitutes a modern complex where sport and the culture are joined, and offers the possibility of different outdoor and indoor activities.

It includes an outer plaza, green ágora, climbing wall, cycle path, indoor soccer field, areas for children, seven swimming pools, baths, exhibition halls and numerous commercial spaces.
