Motovun is probably the most beautiful medieval town in Istria. Officially it has 531 inhabitants 442 of them having italian as mother language. Square on the top of the mountain with the same name with two cisterns for water dating from 15th century is surrounded by two very important building.

  Late renaissance church of St. Stephen, most probably designed by Andrea Palladio and municipal palace largest secular building from renaissance period in Istria.

Motovun is hosting since 1999 international festival of independent and avant-garde films and some other international events.

We visited this square several times in our past, first time in 1985, photos bellow are from that visit. Photo in the middle is very first of our daughter Una, she was 3 then.
