Canada Place, Vancouver, Canada, 2010

In front of the shopping mal called Canada Place this square like space was created. It is not quite clear what was the reason. Nobody is using it except to get to the entrance to the underground mall. Water feature and over sized circular shaped stairs are only other substance here. Even the Tim Hortons store facing the place is not having a single chair or table outside. Wasted money, I am correct?
In very close proximity, but unfortunately not visible from the plaza, Olympic caldron, left over from the 2010 Winter Olympic Games look sadly abandoned [small photo right]. If you are interested how space with almost identical function [and climate!] was created in Rotterdam, Nederland visit that plaza.
