❖Plaza Francia, Buenos Aires, Argentina, 2012 |
![]() On our way from the nearby Museum area to the Recoleta Cemetery we passed true this park – Plaza Francia. We were surrounded with very relaxing atmosphere of manicured lawns and huge blooming Ceiba trees, very common at this time of year [March]. |
On the weekends thou, park is transformed to the vibrant Fiera Plaza Francia [sometime called fiera hippie] with vendors selling their craft, musicians showing their talent and locals enjoying mate tea and lot of kids running around.
We are of course not sure how park got its name [there are other parks in BA named after cities or countries] but bust of the famous Frenchmen, Louis Braille, inventor of the tactile writing system is located at the entrance to the park. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
